About Garry Toop
After retiring from a technical career I picked up my paint brushes that I had not used since college. I am largely self-taught but have enjoyed help from artist groups such as the Prince George Artist’s Co-op and various workshops. My preferred medium is water colour which I use with the direct painting method to capture variations of light and colour found in nature.
I am an outdoor enthusiast who is inspired by the natural beauty around me. I am constantly on the lookout for that special image that reflects my appreciation of life’s adventures. Through the creative lens that painting offers, I am able to relive my life’s precious moments, albeit my greatest reward and motivation is when my work is enjoyed by others.
Garry resides in Kelowna, British Columbia and is an active member of The Federation of Canadian Artists.
